想要跟親朋好友探聽他們跨年有何打算，最簡單的說法有像是：

除此之外，其他常見說法還有像是：

其中 bring in 有「開啟新事物」（usher in a new beginning）的含意，ring in 則源自西方古老傳統－－以 ring bells （敲鐘、搖鈴）的方式「宣告過去結束、迎接新事物」。那到了今日，bring in the New Year、ring in the New Year 已成了相當常見的表達法，字面意思是「迎接新年」，也可以表示「慶祝新年、跨年」的意思喔。

B: Not sure yet, but maybe I’ll go to a bar and grab some drinks.（還不確定，但我可能會去酒吧喝幾杯。）
