形容詞「比較級」與「最高級」的完整用法

英文形容詞按程度分為「原級、比較級、最高級」三種，用於描述事物的好壞、優劣之分。

A + beV / V + 比較級 + than + B

Tonya's room is bigger than her brother's.
Tonya的房間比她弟弟的大。

Naomi can run faster in the morning than she can in the afternoon.
Naomi在早上跑得比下午快。

That watch is more expensive than this one.
那支手錶比這支貴。

『程度副詞 + 比較級 』可以用來表達出差距的程度

Kim is a bit taller than her sister.
Kim 比她姊姊還要高一些。

最高級的基本句型

主詞 + beV /V + the 最高級 + (N) + 比較範圍

Emma is the prettiest girl in our school.
Emma是我們學校最美的女孩。

This hand cream smells the best.
這瓶護手霜最好聞。

My mom cooks the most delicious food in the world.
我媽煮的菜是全世界最好吃的。

可用來修飾最高級的副詞有：much、by far...等。

Laura is by far the smartest student in our school.
Laura 顯然是我們學校最聰明的學生。

形容詞最高級前方也可用所有格，此時不加the。

Chris is my best friend.
Chris是我最好的朋友。

「the 最高級 + N 」 也可以當主詞或受詞。

The tallest house over there is my grandparents'.
那裡那動最高的房子是我祖父母的。

比較級和最高級可以相互替換來表示相同意思

Tokyo is the biggest city in Japan.
東京是日本最大的城市。
