警察會用的英文

在國外時，當目光兇狠的警察緩緩走向你時，他們很有可能會用以下這些句子和你說話。

Freeze! Police!（別動！警察！）
Step out of the car slowly.（慢慢走出車子來。）
License and registration, please, ma'am / sir.（小姐 / 先生，請出示您的駕照和牌照。）
May I see your ID, please?（我能看看你的證件嗎？）
Put your hands on your head.（把你的手放在頭上。）
Are you carrying any illegal drugs?（你有攜帶任何毒品嗎？）
Do you have a weapon?（你有攜帶武器嗎？）
I will give you a warning this time. Don’t do it again, okay?（這次我就給你一個警告。別再這麼做了好嗎？）
I'm going to write you a ticket.（我要開給你一張罰單。）
You are under arrest.（你被逮捕了。）
I am taking you in.（我要帶你到警局。）
= I am taking you to the police station.
You have the right to remain silent.（你有權保持沉默。）

遇到警察時可以說的英文

遇上警察時，可以試著使用以下的句子，不過最好的辦法還是先把雙手舉起來，遵從警察的指示。

I'm unarmed, and I have nothing that will hurt you.（我手上沒有任何武器，我沒有任何會傷害你的東西。）
Excuse me, sir. Why did you pull me over?（不好意思。您為何要把我攔下來呢？）
Can I go reach in my back pocket to get my ID out?（我可以從我後面的口袋裡拿出我的身分證嗎？）
Have I done something wrong?（我有做錯什麼事情嗎？）
Can I call a lawyer?（我可以打給律師嗎？）

speeding 超速

Lucas was pulled over for speeding.（Lucas 因為超速被攔下。）

drunk driving 酒駕

Drunk driving might cause car accidents or road traffic injuries, putting you and others at great risk.（酒駕可能會造成車禍或道路交通事故，讓你和其他人處在極大的危險之中。）

shoplifting 竊盜（店內順手牽羊）

The man who lived nearby was convicted of shoplifting in the convenience store.（住在附近的那名男子因為在便利商店內順手牽羊而被判罪。）

theft 竊盜

Maggie admitted the theft of three pairs of earrings.（Maggie 承認偷了三副耳環。）

vandalism 破壞公物

While people's anger against racism is understandable, we still can’t tolerate vandalism.（雖然人們對種族主義的憤怒是可以理解的，我們還是不能容忍破壞公物。）

smuggling 走私

Linus faces a ten-year jail sentence for drug smuggling.（Linus 因為走私毒品而被判十年有期徒刑。）

drug trafficking 毒品買賣

The Dutch police arrested two men suspected of playing major roles in global drug trafficking.（荷蘭警方逮捕了兩名涉嫌從事跨國販毒的男子。）
